This product was developed by a chemist based out of Berks County, PA, near epicenter for Spotted Lanternflies in the United States. It is non-hazardous to humans and is a contact pesticide, meaning it kills on contact and does not leave behind harmful residues. Here is an excerpt from Clemson University's College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Life Sciences:
"Insecticidal soaps and oils have a number of advantages for controlling insects. They are virtually non-toxic to humans and other mammals, and are relatively safe to beneficial insects in the landscape. They control a wide range of common soft-bodied pests including aphids, mealybugs, thrips, whiteflies, mites, and scales. It is difficult for pests to develop resistance to oils and soaps (Russ and Williamson)."
In trials, this product has shown to be effective against nymphs, adults, and egg masses. Members of the Lehigh Valley Rose Society have also trialed and endorse the product.
